desertbride1 :  finger tip would be great, it just depends on how dramatic you want. DogsAndWine ‘s veil is beautiful, something like that would be perfect!

Seconding the fingertip veil idea! I think it will flow so well into the dress without competing with it, especially if it’s just a single layer of tulle.

Love your dress!!!! It fits you perfectly! I wore a petticoat under my dress to accent the mermaid look. The petticoat really made the difference. Instead of buying the one David’s bridal had, I ordered a cheaper version off eBay.

As for the veil, I got a waltz length veil that was plain so it didn’t over power my gown which had small details/designs. I only wore a veil to please my mother. But I really liked the way it blew in the wind in our wedding photos.

So first of all, that dress looks AMAZING on you already- I can’t even imagine how gorgeous it’ll be when your size comes in. There is not a thing in the world wrong with your body; I think that silhouette is fitting you in all the right places.

I had a similar style with a lot of lace and was on the fence about a veil as well. I ended up doing the veil for the ceremony and photos only, ended up ditching it for the first look and reception.

If you’re interested in a long veil, I wouldn’t write it off. Because there was so much lace/detail in my dress, I was able to find a single-layer chapel-length veil without any embellishment. I’m biased but I think it worked. <3 (And if it helps, I’m short too – 5’2″ – but my heels were about 4.5″.)

As for what I wore underneath…. nothing. Except some thin/seamless panties. But I think your dress isn’t quite as low in the back as mine was so you can probably wear something up top if you want to. I wanted more of a sheath look, so the suggestion someone gave about a petticoat would definitely be good if you want a more dramatic mermaid.

desertbride1 :  Thanks, girl! Hey, if you don’t wanna wear anything underneath, I’m a huge fan of that. I was pretty comfy without, and going to the bathroom wasn’t as bad as it could have been.

The train and all the bustles were hard enough to navigate by themselves, but we managed. – DH and I snuck away and I made him help me!! LOL :’D
