Married just over a year. We haven’t even seen the complete video. We received it shortly before Christmas, watched the first few minutes, got bored and turned it off and haven’t looked at it since. IMO it was a huge waste of money for us.

I am getting a video done just for our vows because I want to share that part with others who won’t be there at the wedding.

I wanted a video but in the end we found a photographer that takes SO MANY pictures and gives us them all that we decided against it. Especially with the budget being tight. Plus, I really don’t more than 1 other person (the photographer) in my dressing room in addition to the bridal party.

I’m soo curious to hear answers on this topic.  When I booked my photographer I opted out of getting the videographer too and now I’m starting to have second thoughts Frown

We had a videographer. I’ve only watched the full video twice, but I’ve watched the highlights reels hundreds of times. I wouldn’t swap it for the world.

I didn’t vote cause I’m still waiting on my video to arrive and I can’t wait to see it. Your wedding day goes by sooo quickly and I’ve already gotten my pro pics back and looked at them over and over but I can’t wait to see it all on video.  I found one that was really affordable($400) who just took video of the ceremony and a few shots of both of us getting ready before the wedding.  Because we got married on the beach I knew that having a friend video it wouldn’t be a great idea cause our vows wouldn’t be heard due to the ocean in the background.  The videographer provided a wireless mic for my husband to wear so our vows would be recorded.

Wouldn’t it be much better to have a videographer and then not really watch your video…than to regret not having one and not having any video to watch??

Also another thing…one day my parents will not be around, I will forever cherish having video of them, esp of us on my wedding day.  Something you can show your children one day and something your grandkids could watch one day as well to see how you lived back in “the good ol days”

I wasn’t planning on getting a videographer, but FI’s dad passed away a couple of weeks after his brother’s wedding a few years ago. He really is glad he has that footage, even though he doesn’t watch it that much. It’s that he CAN watch it if he wants to. For that reason, we decided to get a video… and we really are working with our videographer to capture the memories of our family & friends who won’t be around forever, rather than creating a movie about us.

We didn’t hire a videographer, but Father-In-Law asked his best friend to tape the ceremony, and parts of the reception.  We’ve watched it once, on the day that we got it, and I’m not going to lie, I asked Darling Husband to skip through parts of the ceremony.  I’m just not a sentimental person liket that, and I’m super glad we didn’t spring for a professional.

We just watched ours again and it’s lovely. There are so many happy moments that it reminds me of.

It also gave us a wonderful opportunity to tease the best man about his AWFUL speech in frontof his new girlfriend. 😀

We have a video… Well 2 of them. one is a slideshow video and the other is a full video of our wedding…. We looked at both once we got them back… And we plan to look at again on our 1 year anniversary. Once we cut the top of our cake we are going to look at the video(s)
