RenoSweeney24:  You say “Let me know what you think about each”…. Poster lets you know what they think, you find it unnecessary?

I must be missing something here.

RenoSweeney24:  As I said, I don’t like coloured crystal stemware so my choice remains the same.

I think the majority of people are voting against the purple, what makes you think adding in a second purple choice will change their minds?

FWIW: I think that when you add a colour to the crystal like the 2 purple options, it makes them seem cheap. That’s not something you want with crystal stemware.

RenoSweeney24:  It is. Clear crystal is classic, alcohol is predominantly served in clear glassware for a reason.

RenoSweeney24:  As I said before, I would choose a clear set. The question here is what would you choose? As a few of us have said, wine is better served in clear glass because you can see the characteristics of the wine, such as color, legs etc. This does not apply so much with champagne, although you wonlt be able to see the bubbles.

What it comes down to is, what do you prefer? If you want the purple set, I think they would look fabulous at the wedding for the toast. After the wedding, they will definitely stand out from the rest of the set, so they will be special to you.

Purple water goblet? Sure, why not.

Purple champagne flute? No way, I wanna see the bubbly!

I’d go with the 1st.

ETA: D’oh! I see I’m late to the party…. Enjoy your lovely flutes, OP.

I just saw an entire set of colored Waterford stemware.  It was actually quite regal.  If its Waterford, I’ll take it whatever it is!
