just did mine a couple hours ago!  How did yours go?

Ours was pretty fun, the photogs were awesome, taught us how to pose since we’re both pretty awkward lol.  We have one pose…stand and smile, so it was nice to have them show us.  And they were a husband and wife team so its totally cute they’ll show us how to pose as a couple!

I only pose my couples to get 1 or 2 guaranteed head shots, and a few other must have compositions.  My approach is a somewhat posed type of photojouralitic approach.

When I photograph an experienced model in the studio, there is no posing.  The model moves her arms, hands, head, eyes, and hair slowly and fluently, and I snap away.  Captured stills of this fluid motion results in very natural portraits.  Still posing tends to look well “stiff.”

I ask my engaged couples to move similar to this, perhaps face each other, run fingers through hair gaze into eyes, run fingers down face, or hands across shoulders or back, etc.  They keep moving, I keep snapping.  Results are very natural. Other examples may be holding hands and walking away or towards me, etc.

Every photographer is different though, so you will have to wait and see and then report back here and let us know!
