I know this post is totally random but I looove pigs so I wanted to celebrat them.
Today is Nation Pig Day. It was created in 1972 to recognize the place pigs have in society.
Although widely unknown, pigs are actually the smartest domesticated animals, smarter than dogs, cats and any other pets we may keep. In fact they are just behind monkeys, dolphins and whales on the intelligence scale. Pigs can learn their names by 2 to 3 weeks of age and are extremely trainable and extremely affectionate.
I’ve had a pet pig on my “want list” for a long time. DH knows that at some point it has to happen.
So if you love piggies like I do, post cute pig pictures here.
(And please no posts about eating pig products. That’s just insensitive).

Well now I feel bad about having bacon with dinner tonight! Lol But I agree, they’re adorable. My friend used to have a few teacup pigs. Good god, they were the cutest little things I’d ever seen!

@Meowkers: My mom has wanted a pet pig for as long as I can remember!

How fitting that I’m eating a pork roast for dinner tonight! Not that I’d eat a teacup pig.
In all seriousness, Darling Husband used to have a pet pig named Wilbur (of course). He’d ride him around the house (big pig, Darling Husband was 4), and says he was fun. But they had to send him to a farm because he got soooo big. He’d eat whole pumpkins, or get into the fridge and drink all the beer. True stories.

My sister in law adopted a pig! It is smart! Plays ball and everything! They are great family pets, but you do need to make sure you have someone to take care of piggy wiggy if you go away..not to many pig friendly kennels!

FI’s family had a pet pig in his house until about a year ago. I only knew her toward the end of her life and she was really gross – but only because FI’s family wouldn’t let her go when it was time to.
Fiance now manages a hog farm so I love them because they are how we make our living! I’ve met one of his boars…that thing is HUGE! And loves my Fiance…after all, he’s the one that lets him get at the ladies! LOL.
Also, bacon is pretty much the best meat there is. And ham. And pork roll.
