@cherryblossomlove:  i know what you mean.  we were engaged for over 2 years before we even started planning or even picked a date.  people kept asking if we were really getting married or what.

i just wanted to say, “don’t worry about me, just worry about yourself”.

@cherryblossomlove:  they’re full of shit. “why bother with a wedding?” and then just watch them have a blowout wedding themselves.

@StuporDuck:  two weeks into my marriage, I was being hounded by the baby questions. EXCUSE ME PEOPLE I DID NOT GET MARRIED TO HAVE BABIES FFS!! They wouldn’t let up, so I actually posted a a fb status along the lines of:

“Most people wait at least a year or so before they start thinking about having kids. I’ve been married for two weeks, so just BACK OFF!!”

Bliss since, relatively.

@cherryblossomlove:  ohh just wait. they’re single now, but hold them to it if/when they say “why bother with a wedding?”. they’ll have a blowout, and you can call them out as hypocrites as well as ask them “So why DID you bother with a wedding?”

We’ve had to postpone due to finances and cold feet on both our parts, but I still get asked constantly when we are getting married even after two years of being engaged. FI’s aunt even asked me last Christmas when we were going to have a kid just because FI’s sister had a kid last year.

I am kind of surprised people are asking you if you are going to get married or doubting you will get married, because as I recall you are already legally married.

Do the people asking already know you are already married? Because if not, I would probably just say in response to “will you even get married?” kind of questions that “of course, we already are!”

That should shut them up!

I guess to be fair though perhaps those people are just a bit confused by the cancellation and date changes, and since it has been several (?) years since you had your legal wedding ceremony. Are you still planning on by the end of 2013? I saw in another post you were looking at 2014 or something instead?
