And the strangest thing is that I can’t even remember how the subject came up. We were chatting, he at his computer, me putting away dishes. I say “Well in an ideal world this is how I see it playing out. You propose to me some time before the end of the year and we get married in either October next year or March of the year after”.
“March would give us more time to save money”
“In October that venue we both love has no minimum spend so it would be cheaper. Also, the seventh (our special day) is the day before the school holidays so we could take a small vacation afterwards. But those are just my thoughts”
Smile on his face “Interesting thoughts”
God I love this boy.

Yay!!! Isn’t that always the way it happens – sometimes these conversations just sort of materialize! I think that’s the best. I think it’s great you guys can communicate so openly about this. It doesn’t always have to be the guys timeline that opens the discussion. 🙂

I think you may be right ladies… went to the jewellers today to try and see my ring in person – I love it in pictures but I want to make sure it’s not too much in real life. Turns out it’s a limited run on them and so the store is getting one in for me to see.
Cue mildly awkward conversation with SO about what I had been doing this afternoon but he understands my desire to make sure I love the ring. So I’m going to try it on, let him know that I like it and then he will surprise me sometime with it

It always good that he knows what your timeline is. Even though they are not always clear what their exact timeline is.
