I upgraded my old engagement ring to a Tolkowsky loose diamond 0.78 ct and it is absolutely beautiful!  The diamond has to have particular specifications to be considered a Tolkowsky, kind of like the leo I think.  I don’t know anything about the settings! The best advice I can give you though is to look at bluenile or one of the diamond websites to get an idea of what a good price is.  You should go in and try them on!

For some reason, my original picture didn’t post here. My apologies if it decided to post twice.

I had a Tolkowsky recently but decided to take it back because I felt one edge looked a little crooked to me. Maybe a round cut would be better than a princess in this respect. I’m not sure if it was just my eyes or what. The stone sparkled like crazy, though. It did have a deeper color to it, but it added to the warmth and sparkle overall. It’s winter here, so my hands look terrible in this picture. Sorry. :-/ My ring was a .35 carat, color H-I, SI2, Tolkowski, size 6. I decided to return it. My husband got me something else. The brand itself is really nice. The settings even have platinum prongs.

Also, this was not my original engagement ring. I would never have taken it back if it was. I don’t want people to think I am shallow or something, haha. This ring was a holiday gift from my husband. He noticed the crooked edge at some point too, and said it was all right to pick out something else.

All in all, I think I might have just gotten the one in the batch that had a flaw. The others at the store looked great! It’s a good brand overall.

I love tolkwosky! It’s very unique ring that sparkles like no other!!!! It has a .50 ct that I’m upgrading to maybe a .80ct. It has swirls around the round ideal cut like a halo. My first engagement ring was slightly too large around the band, as I wanted soemthing very small around the band with more of a solitaire look. Hubby didn’t know since we didn’t discuss it. It’s great that YOU are part of the ring making. I highly recommend it!
