This is my first post! My wedding is a little over a year away and I feel so scattered with everything that its like I take one step forward and end up three steps back. I am from California and am having my wedding in Hawaii, which may be part of my planning problem. I have so many ideas but, feel like since I haven’t done anything remotely girly since prom that my plans aren’t going to flow very well together. Lucky for me I have six wonderful bridesmaids and two mothers to help me along the way whereever I may get lost. Did you guys get lost in the planning in the beginning? How did you piece it all together?

My wedding wasn’t girly and I wore blue. Just stay true to yourself, it’s about you and your future husband, it doesn’t have to be princessy if that isn’t what you’re all about.

You might want to consider a wedding planner. If you can find one with good references, they can really help you pull it all together.
If not, then just make a list of all the elements (dress, Bridesmaid or Best Man dresses, flowers, food, photographer, etc), what you need to accomplish for each one and start knocking them out. There are planning tools on the internet. The Knot for sure and I think Martha Stewart weddings.

@Georgia Bee: I completely agree thanks! I have been going back and forth with the planner idea, but yesterday was surprised with a planning book from my mother so that may be just what i needed 🙂
@KatyElle: Thanks for the help 🙂

I hear you! I used The Knot wedding checklist, it helped me a lot with the planning, and the timing of things.

check out offbeat bride and offbeat tribe. LOTS of non-girly-girls over there.
