A fun wand or a “Here Comes the Bride” flag or sign. I was at a wedding recently where the flower girl had a wand with some ribbons and she referred to herself as “the sparkle girl”. She was so cute!

@totheislnds:  I think the little Here Comes The Bride pennant is awesome!

I think it’s really cool of you to consider your sisters’ sense of herself and her style.  As kids we’re so often forced into the gender roles that our parents and others want us to have until we get old enough to assert otherwise.

The flower girl pics above are really cute, but they seem pretty girly girl to me.

Are you having a different ring bearer?  She could carry the rings.  There’s no reason that only boys can do that job.

Is there something else special that will be used in your ceremony that she could carry, either in the open (like a bible, reading book, or a candle or lantern that you could use to light a unity candle) or inside of a special box or chest?

I like it when bridesmaids carry lanterns:

Also, could she be a Jr. BM?  Flower girl dresses tend to be pretty extreme w/ the foof and frill, and even the name can be tough to take for someone that isn’t that into flowers or being fawned over for being a pretty little girl.

Are you sure she wouldn’t want to carry flowers?  She might surprise you if you ask her.

My flowergirl was SUCH a tomboy.  She’s 4 and every time I showed her a dress she would say “ew that’s so nasty!” or  “oh my gosh, I’m not wearing that!”  So I didn’t say this TO her, but I told everyone else, if she wanted to wear the same tux as my ring bearer, I’d be fine with that!  I actually thought it’d be funny/cute for her to wear a little tux.

After she came shopping with me and the bridesmaids, she liked that we got to try on dresses and stand on the little pedestal so she slowly got into the whole dress thing and ended up wearing one.  She changed for the reception which I was fine with.

On the thought of what she could carry, I love that ‘Here Come’s the Bride’ pennant that someone posted earlier!  Or you could have 2 ring pillows, have her carry one with your ring, and the ring bearer carry your fiances ring.

What are you colors/ theme?  Maybe we can all help you come up with something based on that!
