Bees I need you to talk me down! I’m probably just overanalysing but I think my SO might propose tomorrow on our anniversary. you know that feeling that everyone else knows something you don’t?
-Christmas Eve my dad and my SO snuck off to make teas/coffees and I think it might have been a good opportunity for my SO to ask my dad’s blessing.
-my SO bought me a ring and necklace for Christmas from the same place his brother bought his fiance’s engagement ring. He then asked me how we’ll the ring fitted, if I needed it sized down and said that he had tried it on to test the size.
-my mum keeps reminding me that our anniversary is coming up. she also talked me into buying a beautiful dress and mentioned it would make a great picnic dress.
-we didn’t have any plans, but SO was just saying he thought that we could go on a picnic tomorrow and that he has bought a basket and everything.
-he also joked at the end of last year about proposing but then said that January is a nicer month.
A few family members have also made comments about how lovely he is and “what a good couple we are *wink wink*” Bees, are you thinking what I’m thinking?! I was going to bring up a timeline talk and ring shopping after all the buzz of Christmas and the new year but maybe I won’t get the chance. I’m feeling really nervous! Am I just overthinking all of this?

@Dogsbody92: definitely sounds promising to me, but don’t get your hopes up and set yourself up for disappointment! Enjoy your anniversary with or without the proposal! *fingers crossed for you*

I know I shouldn’t tell you this in case it doesn’t happen, but my hopes would be soaring if I were you. If your dad is the type that would tell your mom that SO talked to him, and your moms the type to not be able to keep a secret, then I would definitely think it were happening. And here’s the obligatory “don’t get your hopes up too high!” but seriously, you should probably get your nails done just in case. *FINGERS CROSSED*

Sounds promising to me…
And fits with the Statistics…
Men typically propose on … Holidays – Vacation – SIGNIFICANT Dates / SPECIAL Occasion – or a SENTIMENTAL Place.
I’d say that with all the stuff that is going on around you… that others are in the know.
Go get some pampering done today… it will help you unwind… lol… if nothing else at least a manicure.

Sounds like a strong possibility! Eeeeeee! I know it’s hard but try not to get your hopes too far up in the sky. It sounds like you’ll have a fabulous anniversary regardless of whether or not a proposal occurs.

@Dogsbody92: I’m in the same boat as you, girl! My SO mentioned on Sunday that a proposal is coming “very soon” and we have been talking wedding stuff A LOT this week! Then, on Tuesday, he told me that he really wants to bike to the duck farm on Saturday (it’s a place that is very special to the both of us) and have a picnic. He told me he already checked the weather and it’s supposed to be nice and then asked if we could get together with our friends Saturday night.
I’m losing my mind over here, too! But trying not to overthink anything! It’s just so unlike him to plan something and be so adamant about doing it! He even wants to stay in tonight instead of going out so we’re feeling in tip top shape for tomorrow morning. It’s so hard to focus on anything when you’re thinking “could this be it?!?” Either way, I’m sure it’s going to be a great day.
I have my fingers crossed for you!! Good Luck!!

@This Time Round:
thank you ladies! Unfortunately is was so ridiculously hot (I’m in Aus) so we didn’t go on the picnic. He was pretty upset. We did however have a pretty big chat about where we are in our lives and how our relationship is going. He also asked when my parents were married and was talking about how great it must be to be married so I definitely know it is coming soon.
To be honest, I was pretty shocked when I realised what he was planning but I’m feeling a bit calmer about it all now. It’s nice to know how much it is on his mind. I’m sure I won’t be waiting much longer!
@marie02: oh, my fingers are crossed for you, that sounds like a beautiful place!

@Dogsbody92: Thank you for the update my fellow Aussie Bee 🙂 I know what you mean when you say it was ridiculously hot, I am in Bris and we hit 40 degrees yesterday, definitely not picnic weather.
I am in the same boat, I have been with my SO for 14 years and just recently I found an engagement ring in his drawers, so I know it is going to happen soon but the wait is killing me, I am so impatient 🙂
Please keep us all updated on how it all goes, and make sure you post some pictures of your bling for us to all drool over once it is official, I look forward to the update.
