can you share pictures of what dress it is? I think the design will have a lot to do with how much it can be altered. I think your best bet is to take it to a seamstress to get a professional opinion.

@FoolsintheRain:  I agree.

During my dress shopping I was always told that a couple of sizes are possible but anything more than two or three sizes changes the design of the dress.

I would look into professional alterations and see what they say. You may just find someone capable of redoing the dress but I’m sure it won’t be cheap or quick.

awww sorry- I didn’t come back to check quick enough! 🙁 I would just go to a seamstress first before anything else. Not sure about returns. Good luck!

Honestly, it depends on the designer. Not all size 12 gowns measure the same. For example, a watters size 12 is MUCH larger than a Lazaro size 12. What designer made your dress?

It really dependson the styleof the dress– take it to a seamstress ASAP and get a professional opinion, if it can’t be taken in, go back and complain to the shop.

It wouldn’t hurt to write a yelp review first too, businesses really do pay attention to those.

I would ask a seamstress before you try to return it -maybe there is a happy ending!

Also, I can’t see your pics which makes me sad because I’m going through something similar myself.
