Our dog is not allowed on the bed or furniture. Yesterday, when I came home sick from work. I couldn’t take the dog out and just got in bed. I called him into the bed because I didn’t want him to get into things in the house when I was sleeping. (We sleep with the door closed because of this and he is crated during the day.)
Today is my work from home day. As I was cooking during my lunch break, I was wondering why the dog was so quiet. I walked by him twice. I guess he thinks he can be on the bed now…..

Awwwww I couldn’t be mad that the face either!!! I just don’t let our cats get on surfaces where there is food (counters, dining room table, coffee table) and everything else is pretty much free reign in our house.

@ajillity81: …and it starts. Those eyes, how could you say no???
Our dogs weren’t allowed on the bed either, they were crated at night. Then I would allow them on the bed while we were home, then it went to they could sleep with me when my Darling Husband was on work trips.
They sleep with us every night now, all snuggled up against us. My only regret is that I didn’t allow this sooner!

@Treejewel19: Nope, the line is drawn. I realized I made a mistake in my moment of weakness. He adjusted pretty well when he moved into my house with Fiance. Fiance had the dog for 5 years and he had free reign of his apartment and slept in FI’s bed.
When they moved in with me, there were rules. It took about 2 weeks to make sure the dog wouldn’t jump on the furniture if we stepped out of the room. Dog has been really good for the year that he’s been living with me.

This is what happens when you let the dog up “just this once”… our dog now gets up in bed (only on my side, at my feet) every morning at 6:30am for his routine snuggle. This was from the other morning… pretty sure he’s one happy dog. lol.
But really, how can you get mad when you wake up to this sight!?!?

Aw! Lol my dog gives me the same look. Yesterday o changed bed sheets and didn’t want them to get it dirty so I didn’t let them sleep on it. Then I woke up and they were both snuggling with me and dh. I gave in easy sigh .

My cat is allowed on the bed. He sleeps with us most nights. Some nights I do close the door so that I can get a better night’s sleep, though 🙂
