Ours were sent around the 7-8 month mark, and 80% will be out of town. I’d wait a bit longer if I were you.

Hey date twin! I’m planning on sending ours out next week some time. There will be three weddings in my fiances family next year and we want to be sure everyone knows when the wedding is far in advance!

Our wedding was in June and we sent ours just before Christmas.  Our guest list was 99% from out of town, and everyone important still made it.

Our ceremony is on July 6, 2013.  We will be coming to them from CO so we are giving people at head’s up.  We wont be sending ours til around the holidays because otherwise our family will probably forget about it or throw it out by accident, but we know our families well. I think its a little early but you should do whatever you see fit.

i might wait a little bit longer, perhaps september? we have a lot of people we are inviting from ireland and we want to give them ample notice, but also we kinda still want some of them to not come so we can get some b listers in, so we are going to aim for october.

Why wait?  Does it matter?  8 months versus 11 months?  Doesn’t matter.  The point is to let people know so they can make arrangements.  It’s not like the 2-3 month difference will make them forget in the meantime.

A vast majority (at least 80%) of our guest list it Out of Town, so we’re sending ours ~a year in advance.

I think a year is really early.  I’d wait until 6-9 months in advanced.  People don’t need to know a year ahead of time and most likely they’ll end up losing the STD and forgetting the date if you send them out so early.

I think that as long as you’re within a year you can send them. That’s what I’m doing so that people have as much time as possible to make plans.

I would wait a couple of months, at least until people are over this year’s wedding season.  If got another wedding related invitation or anything right now, I’d actually kind of ignore it until next year.

@JenGirl:  I agree. As long as it is within a year which you are in now. Send them!
