My wedding is July 25th. The invitations are stamped and ready to go. My mom thinks it is too early to send them out? I have read it should be 6 – 8 weeks. And I guess we’re more at 12 weeks. However, we didn’t send out Save the Dates and most of our guests will be from out of town.
Is there anything wrong with sending them this early?

I’d say that because you didn’t send out any STD’s, it’s a summer wedding & most of your guests are Out of Town… go ahead & send them out!
Your guests need a heads up & need time to make plans to attend your wedding. It may be early, but at least it won’t leave anyone scrambling 🙂

Since your guests are from out of town I would def send them out NOW. I sent out our STD’s and website link in March for our August 1st wedding because 98% of our guest list is made of OOT’ers and its tourist season for our wedding location so we wanted to make sure people were able to actually get a room!

The only reason they say to wait is because they don’t want people to look at the date and think oh that’s not too soon and they may forget about sending their RSVP or they’ll plan to do it later and they’ll lose it. I’m not sure how common it is that it actually happens. If people are going to be flying in though then I agree and would send them out now or no later than the 8 week mark!

I agree that especially because you have a lot of OOT’ers and you did not send Save The Dates you should send those out ASAP!

I say send them! Have you had any pre wedding parties? people might not be sure they are invited to the wedding if there was no STD!
