So, I have decided to get off BC now that Darling Husband and I are married, so that the nuclear wasteland that is my ovaries can start to normalize for when we actually start TTC. So I bought my copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility, and can’t wait to read it! I definitely want to get through it before my gyno appointment next month, so I can have a good grasp on the subject and can talk to her intelligently about natural family planning and other options.
The problem is, I do most of my reading on the long train ride home every day, and, well … I’m just plain too embarrassed to sit there with my massive textbook-sized copy of TCOYF. I don’t want to invite people to talk to me about it (which they will do — oh boy, they will); I just want to read in peace without strangers trying to engage in conversation about my birth control methods and fertility!
I thought about covering the book like I did with textbooks in high school — you know, the chopped up paper bag method — but that seems even MORE ridiculous! At least then people wouldn’t see what I was reading, though 🙂
Any other ideas for how to stave off embarrassment and still get to read this book?? If only the Kindle version weren’t so expensive and poorly-reviewed …
