I am planning on asking my mom if she would want to do a mother daughter dance with me. I debated on asking her to walk me down the aisle with my dad, but I think the mother daughter dance will be a better way to spend special time with her. I am still doing a father daughter dance. I am close to my dad, but my parents were divorced since I was a baby, and my mom is the one who raised me and has always been there for me so I want to make her feel special.
I really want to use the song “I’ll Stand By You” by the Pretenders. My mom loves the song, and I feel it really describes how much she has been there for me. However, since deciding I wanted to use that song, I can’t stop crying every time I listen to it.
I know a lot of people choose very sentimental songs for the mother daughter dance or father daughter dance.
My question is, were you able to enjoy the dance and not cry the whole time if you picked a song that was making you cry beforehand? I don’t want to be a mess during the dance, but I really would prefer that song over the other options.
