@JanuraryGirl80: It is really unhealthy to loose more than 1-2 pounds a week. It’s also been shown that diet pills cause dangerous side effects and rebound weight gain once you go off of them. Being “herbal” doesn’t make them safe.

My doctor has said is perfectly safe.  I guess maybe you need to know that I am 300lbs and it is quite alright according to my doctor to lose that much weight in a month.

So even though my wedding is still really far away, I started working out at the end of June to just get in the habit of working out again and to “tone up.”  I have been working out every other day, which usually involves lifting weights for about 30 minutes and then 15-30 minutes of running on the treadmill (do the weight-lifting first!)  I have already seen a huge difference, not that the # on the scale has changed but I’m definitely more toned, have less cellulite, and overall feel a lot better!  I haven’t really changed my diet but probably will once it gets closer to the wedding.  Also, I’m working midnights right now so it’s definitely tough to force yourself to get out there and work out, but the hardest part is putting on your workout clothes that first time!  I think 2 months is definitely enough time to make a difference!!!

@FallBride100811:  It is definitely enough time for the BM’s dresses.  Alterations, if even necessary, should not take more than 4 weeks.  Just have your girls take them immediately to a reputable seamstress, stress the time crunch, and they should be more than fine!  Most likely, the dresses might need a nip or tuck here and there, but it’s not going to be as mnuch work as, say, a wedding gown with intricate detail would.  I am ordering my dresses tomorrow, and my wedding is Nov 26.  They will have a month to get them altered.  I’m not worried about it, and you shouldn’t be either!


About the weight thing, I second everyone has said.  Just cut back a little, in small ways.  Cutting out alcoholic beverages for me is the first and foremost way for me to slim down, and it usually happens in only a week.  Drinking really not only packs on phantom calories (calories that you don’t realize are there), but it also leaves you dehydrated, AND bloated.  So…if there was only ONE thing to cut out, that is what I would start with.  But also portion control and a bit of exercise.  Even just three times a week will make a diff!  Won’t it feel so great knowing you worked toward improving your health in order to slim yourself into your gown, looking and feeling confident and fabulous on your wedding day?  Best of luck!! I agree with Januarygirl80. It depends on how much you weigh to begin with. If you are obese, then 15lbs in a month is doable. If you are overweight, 15 lbs in a month can be dangerous.

To the OP, crayfish has a point about supplements, consult a physician before taking any diet supplements.
