So we registered at Macys a few months ago and now, lo and behold one month before our wedding they have discontinued our china 🙁 The good news is that we received all of our place settings before it was discontinued but we only have one bowl, no mugs or any of the other pieces that go with the set. Would it be wrong to set up a new registry at a store that still has our china at this late stage? We would still keep that Macys one open but after the showers and engagement gifts, there isn’t a whole lot left on it so we will need to put a few more things on there anyway but I would prefer to register somewhere else and get the rest of the china. We are also registered at Crate & Barrel but there is nothing left on that registry so we could close that and open one with the new store instead. Is it too late to do this? Am I crazy for even considering it?

I don’t think it’s wrong to set up a new registry but you need to get the word out there to guests. Just tell family and friends what happened and ask them to spread the work.

I think you would make this easier on everyone if you registered for a different pattern at Macy’s. They have so many china patterns. Not all of them might be in your store, but if you have a Macy’s store with a huge home department near by, you can look at like 150+ different patterns in person. There are more online.

I think you still have plenty of time to register at the other store. So many of your guests will wait till the week (or even day!) of your wedding to buy gifts, and they will be grateful to have more options!

@Gemstone: I agree that a lot of people are last minute shoppers. I don’t think there is anything wrong with opening up another registry to make sure you get what you want.
