Hi Bees, our wedding is at the end of September. After a pretty massive screw-up with Paper Source, they finally fixed the order (save the dates & invitations) and faxed it over last week to William Arthur. We are expecting to get our proof either today or tomorrow and if we approve immediately, we’ll get our entire order the second week of April. That means the Save the Dates won’t get to our guests until mid to late April. Is it too late to send them? We were planning on sending the actual wedding invitations with accommodations information the first week of June and 90% of our guests are from out of town.

No I don’t think so, if you have a lot of out of town guests I think it’s a good idea to send them as soon as they are ready.

I think every little “warning” helps, so I would go ahead and send them.

I’m getting married the same day and I am sending out my Save the dates at the end of April so I think it’s fine!

Not too late at all, especially for a major city like Atlanta where people may have trouble booking rooms (especially budget rooms) if there is an event. I already see that there is a Braves game that evening.

Not too late, but I think sending out invitations in June for a late September wedding is too early.

I dont think its too late at all. I am getting married the same day and we just sent ours out last Monday.

Not too late.
If you send STD’s, invites don’t need to go out until 2 months before the wedding…so you’re good!

I think you’re pretty much on target with save the dates, but I would hold off a little on sending invitations until July.

We’re a little earlier in September but will be sending our Save-The-Date Cards out in April. We went back and forth about whether we were going to do them at all but I fell in love with a design and figured better a little late than never! I’m think you’ll be fine.

Thanks ladies, the reason behind sending out the invites earlier was because we have some out of town guests that need to start making arrangements. Also, we wanted to get them back by the beginning of August so we had enough time to call people that didn’t respond and set everything up with rentals and catering. I will consider sending them out mid to end of June, that way folks will have a little over a month to respond.

i sent mine out at the 5 month mark because that’s when we started planning and confirmed a date. i think you will be just fine. it’s nice to have that little extra planning time.

I don’t think it’s too late at all, sounds like a good timeline!

We had some issues with our Save the Dates, and I just sent them out in the mail this weekend. It was later than I hoped to send them out, but I spent the money and didnt want to waste them. Plus we figured late notice was better than nothing at all.
