I have a dilema. Our venue gave us a fairly strict limit of 80 guests. When we sent out invitations we were careful not to go too far over the limit but this meant not inviting partners unless they were married, engaged or living together – I think a few people were a little upset by this.
However, now we are getting RSVPs back, it looks like we will come in under our limit of 80 guests.
My question is: Is it too late to now invite people’s partners since the invites have already gone out without the partner’s name included? Plus when some people have asked if their partner is invited we’ve already said no.
I’m worried it might be awkward as they will know they were a late addition to the guest list. But some people might appreciate having their partner there and I want to make sure we have as many guests as we can fit into the venue.
What shall I do?!
