@Kacie209:  We got engaged Dec 2013.  We’re getting married Feb 2015.  We will also be almost 33 (me) and 36 (him) when we get married.  And I have insane baby fever right now, so having to wait is making me crazy!

If it works for you, book it.  A good friend will not care if you get married on the same day she did.  Nor will a good friend mind celebrating her birthday there (I’m getting married on the birthday of one of my guests.  I’m just going to do a little something special for her to mark her birthday as well.)  If it really bothers them they won’t come.  And that’ll tell you something about your friendship, no?  (It would me.  A close friend I’d do anything I could to be at their wedding!)

I can’t say the wait has flown by.  It hasn’t.  I’d like to be married tomorrow.  But its going decently quickly.

And you can totally plan a wedding in 8 – 9 months.  I planned the big things all in one week in Feb when I was on vacation from work.  I could have (and would have) done more, but everyone was razzing me about planning it all too soon.  (Little do they know that once I have the wedding planned and paid for I can start house hunting.  And then decorating.  And then BABIES!)

I personally didn’t want an engagement longer than 6 months. Luckily my husband didn’t either. But it’s really all up to you.
