Okay so I have this idea of doing this whole Music and Hollywood inspired affair. I’m thinking very young and hip-the VMA’s and the Grammy’s-but I also want this whole Marie Antoinette (yes Sophia Coppolla version) feel to it. And since the historic Marie Antoinette liked to gamble I was thinking of adding a few classic casino touches like a speakeasy almost or maybe something ridiculous like Vegas. I want a spectacular affair that’s glamorous! A few images I found that inspire my mood. Any ideas on how to tie it all together?

I think you might find yourself trying to incorporate small details from each element and not achieving an overall feel that correlates with any one. if that makes sense. Like using vinyl records for table numbers and mismatched anique looking place settings and casino chips for placecards… none of that will ultimately go togeter to get one cohesive look.

When I saw your photos, I thought about combining the two-vintage glamour and “saloon girl” look into a Vintage-slightly steampunk affair. I think it would be fairly easy to combine the two. You could have a vintage style wedding gown, and your bms could carry lacy fans. Here is a link that could be helpful. 🙂

It is all sooo cute! Your going to have the modern wedding of the year with a queen V twist! Once you sit down and eliminate the little stuff that doesnt matter you will have a great inspiration piece but I looove everything! good luck!

@annmargaret23: Great inspiration & ideas!!! Have you thought about playing with a color palette to unify everything? I read through your post and immediately thought about the colors in a deck of cards. You could work with a modern deck (sparkly silvers and golds, reds, creams, and blacks) or with a vintage, Marie Antoinette era deck in a more muted palette. The Queen of Hearts! 🙂
