In the beginning I thought we were being cute, with our home made banners, and barnwood centrepieces. Home baked wedding favors. Then we decided to go ahead and use my moms wedding veil to make a ring pillow and line burlap banners for our dessert and guest book table.
Now, future Mother-In-Law asks me to use her wedding cake topper which is oh so cute! (30 years old, little plastic painted bride and groom!)
Are we getting tacky now? Should we stop?…!

I think it sounds awesome! The only thing I would be iffy about (and thats just me) would be the cake topper. Then again, I haven’t seen it and maybe it would be great! I think that it is nice that you are doing these DIY touches, and maybe using some of your parents stuff will make it more sentimental as well.

@Misshotsauce: If you love it then go for it! To me though, it seems like there are some details that aren’t worth all the effort. Are your guests going to care about the drink stirers you made (as an example)? Probably not. The stuff you did seems worth it though, but I feel like I will be asking myself “Will the guests even notice or care?” before I get too excited or devote too much time to something.
