The vast majority of my friends have turned 30 over the past year or so. Another batch is turning 30 this year. Last year, one of my friends planned overnight getaways for our single friends who didn’t have a significant other to plan a party for them. Typically this cost about $100 a person plus cost of food, gift and any other incidentals.
This year, I am saving to be in a wedding, several baptisms and a large family event that I’ll be helping to plan and contribute towards financially. Not to mention my husband and I are trying to build our savings account so that we can start our own family.
I love my friends dearly, but I can’t keep spending $100 every other month to go on getaways with my girlfriends even if it is for their 30th birthday.
Is anyone else in this situation? What do you do? I would normally find a way to save on other costs for the month to be able to go on the trip; however, all my leftover money right now is going towards these other events that I’m already committing too.
