Hi bees, I have a question I wanted to bring to the experts! How many bridesmaids and groomsmen is too many for a small (60 person) wedding? My Fiance and I both have a brother and a sister who must be in our bridal party, so that gives us each 2 people on our side. However, we both also have 2 friends that we would like to have stand with us. Are four bridesmaids and four groomsmen too many for a small wedding? My mom thinks it will look ridiculous, and I think it is probably too many as well, but these are very close friends of ours and it feels really weird to not have them stand with us.

I don’t think it’s too many. Ridiculous is the 40 person bridal party my Darling Husband was part of a few years back… 20 bm and 20 gm… crazy!

You’re fine. 4 on each side isn’t too big for a small wedding!
I never understood that anyways, ask whomever is closest to you to be in your party, no matter what the size of your wedding is!
Unless of course you are having a 10 person wedding and THEN want 4 on each side. That might be a little odd. 😉

as long as you have more people sitting and watching than standing next to you, i think you are good =)

I think that is a great number. We are doing 4 each as well and our guest list is about 60 too. Any more and you’d be pushing it, but then again look at the couples who have been apart of the greek system or something and have 10-15 each!

I think 4 on each side is perfectly fine and not too many 🙂

I think 4 on each side is just fine! That’s a pretty common number of attendants.

I think as long as there are more people sitting in the chairs than standing up front, you’re good!

I think that sounds fine. They are important so they should be seen as such. I never understand that measuring of how many bridal party members per # of guests. Do what ever you feel is right.

i think you can have as many as you want, regardless of the size of the wedding. It’s all about who you want to have standing beside you on your big day!

I think 4 is fine. I don’t think it matters how many people you have in your wedding. If you had 20 people who wanted to stand by your side and you only had 10 people as guests it wont matter as long as you and your husband to be are happy.

4 is perfect, especially considering half are family!
