When my Fiance bought my rings, he got the engagement and wedding ring as a set. My Grandma passed away a few years ago, and my Aunt is giving me either my Grandma’s wedding or engagement ring. It’s so kind of her and she’s given them both to me to choose.
The engagement ring is white gold with an imperfect diamond while the wedding ring was a yellow gold band, though my Aunt has added an opal to it.
Its so kind of my Aunt to offer one to me and I am so grateful, but I just can’t choose! I’m tempted to go for the engagement ring as it hasn’t been altered since my Grandma had it. But I know my Fiance wouldn’t want me to replace the engagement ring he bought me, so I would just have to wear it as a normal ring… I also therefore wondered how people think would be best to wear them – just as normal rings or try and incorporate them into my bridal set?
just looking for opinions really!! 🙂 Thanks!

you could always take turns wearing your rings and your grandmothers ring, just swap them out as you please. If this bothers your SO then I’d wear grandma’s ring on your right hand

Normal rings, normal rings! I’m sorry to everyone who has them, but I just can’t anymore with the 6-deep stacks. What’s wrong with the other 9 fingers? (ok, 7 if you don’t wear thumb rings)

I personally don’t like opal AT ALL so I would go with the other band 🙂

If you can’t take them both, then thank them for the one that speaks the most to you no matter the reason. And you can’t really have “too many rings.” Just my $0.02.

OP, I would just pick whichever you like best and wear it as a RHR. I don’t mean to be morbid, but your aunt will probably pass before you and then you will have 2 generations of women represented if you choose the one with the opal. Both sound lovely though. As I’ve said MANY times during this wedding planning process: You can’t go wrong with either one!

Thanks to you all for your input 🙂 Turns out the decision was made much easier once I got the rings, as only one of them fits properly!!! 😀 I’ve chosen the opal wedding ring, and am wearing it on my right hand. I’m thrilled with it!

It’s beautiful! I’m happy you were able to make the right choice for you — and that fate made the choice easier. Since it fits you perfectly, it seems that it was meant to be.

I have three wedding rings. I just wear whatever I am in the mood for. Audrey Hepburn had three rings too and rotated wearing each. If it worked for Audrey it will work for you.
