To me, there answer to that question is always No. I am aware, however, that all humans are not dessert-grabbing fiends like myself.
So help me out- is this too many sweets?
- Gummies in Out of Town bags
- Macarons as guests enter reception
- Dessert course- Lemon wedding cake w/ raspberry buttercream and lemon curd
- Dessert course- Yellow wedding cake w/ chocolate fudge and caramel (salted?)
- Dessert course- Mini sugar cream pies- these are sort like a cinnamon custard pie
- Dessert course- Strawberries
Sugar overload? Or totally awesome for guests?
Edit: This is not a dessert-only reception. We will also be having appetizers and dinner, along with these sweets.

Are you having a desserts only reception? If so then it looks great and that is what people are going to be expecting. If you are having a traditonal reception or hor’derves you might have to add something substantial to that too. Fancy cheese tray? veggie skewers?

I’d just go for it. Not every one will eat every thing.

As long as you have other options (non sweets), I think that’s great! I would probably eat them all, because I’m a total sweet fiend and I don’t eat sweets except for social occasions lol

There can never be too many sweets for me. I think your guests are going to love it.

Personally the more sweets the better. Nice variety too 🙂

@globalmargaret: LOL, no we’re having appetizers and a 3 course dinner, too. We love food…

I think it’s fine, especially since most of it is spaced out. But why do you have 2 wedding cakes?

Since you’re also having dinner, maybe cut the dessert menu in half. Some people love desserts and there is no such thing as too much, but at the same time, since your guests will be full from dinner, you could have alot of waste. You know your guests best.

The only one that would confuse me is the macaroons before dinner/cocktails. But I’m in the there can never be too many sweets camps.

wow, I am salivating. I should not have opened this. LOL
It all sounds amazing!

Thanks for all the helpful suggestions!
@knitterbear: The 2 flavors of cake are just the 2 different tiers of 1 wedding cake, and guests can choose between them.
The macaroons seem like the thing to cut, if any, and I think I agree. Those were only added because my mom is obsessed with them. The sugar cream pie and strawberries are from the caterer, but there won’t be a ton of it since there’s also wedding cake. I was interested to see if cookie favors would be left behind (and it looks like they wouldn’t) so thanks!

@BooRadley: I love the idea of macaroons! My dad and me buy them and maple nut goodies whenever we spend time together 🙂
If dropping anything, I’d suggest the sugar cookies. I either love them or hate them, depending on how they are baked, but with the cake and pies I wouldn’t need them. If you wanted to keep a sweet favor, why not swap for the pies?

Who doesn’t like sweets? This sounds like my dream wedding! Keep it all!
