My dress has no bling on it. It has ruching to the side and a 3D flower where the ruching comes together from the top and bottom. I love it’s simplicity, but figured I would want to dress it up with accessories.
So far, I’m wearing pearl stud earrings Mr Bear gave me a few Christmases ago and had always planned to borrow my sister’s wedding necklace, which is more on the ornate side with rhinestones and pearls. (Though definitely not a “statement necklace”)
Somehow I ended up with a nice bridal barrette (large, like for a half-up style) with pearls and a few rhinestones. But I’m very indecisive on what hairstyle I want. I keep going to Etsy to look at headbands and ribbon headbands. But I wonder…
Simple-ish dress + Ornate necklace + Sparkly headband = too much?
Picking up my dress tonight from David’s, so hopefully they’ll have some headbands I can try on. Will try to post some pics afterwards. Sorry I don’t have the neclace yet.
Anyone else have wedding hair with headband pictures??

I definitely think you should post some photos up because its sometimes a little hard to imagine how all these things will look together. You can find stock photos of your dress if you don’t feel comfortable placing a photo of you online.
As for your question, I don’t think it would be too much bling, but again pictures would be nice to be absolutely sure.

Um, I think I was totally blinged out and it was FINE! 🙂 I had on (top to bottom):
-fingertip length veil with beads and swarovski crystals on the trim
-band with swarovski crystals and brooch
-swarovski crystal dangly earrings
-totally blingy bodice on my dress
I loved it! I just posted this in another thread but here is a pic of me with the headband… I didn’t wear a necklace because my dress was so blingy, but if your dress is more plain i think it would be fine.

I’d have to see what it actually looks like all together.

Well, here’s the dress. (Ignore my expression, trying to steady my phone).
And here’s similar to what I remember the neclace looking like, except with some pearls on it.

I think that all the bling will be balanced out fine by the plainness (blinglessness?) of the dress. It looks great!

@MsJeep23: I love the term blinglessness 🙂
@ItsPronounced_ABear: I think it will be fine, but I’d maybe try it on together to be sure (if possible) before you purchase the headband. I also think that you maybe need a blingy bracelet. I feel like currently all the bling will be concentrated on the top 1/4 of your body and it would balance it out a little to pull the eye down to your bracelet as well.

Oh I don’t think that will be too much at all, I think that it will be perfect to “dress up” your dress (which is beautiful by the way)!

@ItsPronounced_ABear: I don’t think it will be too much, whether you wear the barrette or headband

I think it will look lovely together! Not too much at all
