I don’t think it would be too much green, but if you are worried what about just doing the purple tablecloths and no overlays?

or you could use a lime green runner rather than an entire overlay if you’re worried about it being too green.

Do you have any pics?  I think the purple with the apples would be just right… not sure about the overlay without seeing it.

I don’t really know without seeing it, but if it is too much what about having a white or silver overlay instead?

I was talking to my florist about a topic similar to this a few days ago and I think you are better off with the purple table cloth and the vase w/the green apples so your centerpieces will have that “pop” effect.  If you have a green overlay, I think it will blend in too much.

I think the apples would stand out better against a purple backdrop.  Here’s a pic of runners on a round table though for reference

I feel like it might be too much green if you use the green overlays. I think the purple table cloths with some really pretty centerpieces will be very elegant! Check out some of these ideas!

This is an easy opportunity to do a mockup. It’s not like an expensive centerpiece has to be duplicated. Go to your local party rental place where you are getting your linens, set up a table with the cloth and overlay. Take your own vase of apples and see what it looks like.

If you don’t have access to your linens locally, go to the fabric store. Pick out the appropriate purple and green fabrics with your vase of apples. They won’t care in the store- women do this all the time when making decisions about buying fabrics.

I agree that purple linens will look better with the green apples!
