i know it’s still early to be picking out the songs but i am the type that likes to think ahead…
so my fiance and i have talked about first dance songs and we have our heart set on “fly me to the moon” by frank sinatra. we both love the song and love sinatra and when i close my eyes and picture us dancing to it, it brings a huge smile to my face. 🙂 we would also love to take dance lessons beforehand to make it extra special.
now i’ve been trying to think of songs to use when i dance with my dad. my dad and i have a good relationship, but we aren’t mushy at all so i definitely don’t want a mushy song. i have been thinking of “when you’re smiling” and of course my favorite version is by frank sinatra again.
so my question is: would that be sinatra overload?? my second favorite for the father/daughter dance would be “isn’t she lovely” by stevie wonder. the only hesitation i have with that is in the song he sings “i never thought through love we’d be making one as lovely as she, but isn’t she lovely made from love”. my parents just got divorced a few months ago and i don’t know if people would find that lyric awkward… (even though i suppose 25 years ago i was made from love, haha!)
what do you think??
