How soon is too soon for Save-the-Dates? We’re getting married in June of 2013 (504 days away, but who’s counting,) and although it feels super early, I’m nervous that people will start planning for other weddings if we don’t reserve them soon enough. I hear that the weekend we’re getting married is the most popular weekend for weddings, so I want to send them as soon as it’s appropriate. Whaddya’ll think? Thanks!

I think 12 months will be plenty of notice for friends and family members to attend your wedding. Eariler than that, they will probably forget or lose the STD.

@curse10kaia: How many Out of Town guests do you have? If you have a lot I would not say its terribly early, because they will have to book flights and its usually cheaper to do it further in advance. Also if you have the venue booked, you can always share the date by word of mouth before Save-The-Date Cards.

I’d wait until June to send them out. People might just lose or misplace them (or worse, get confused and think you mean THIS June)!

I agree, wait until June!

Wait till July before the wedding. I’ve heard of save the dates going out for the following year and people thinking it was an invite for that year!

Totally agree with the PP… wait til June or July at least so no one thinks that it is THIS year.
