Hello lovely bees!
Our wedding is a year and a half away and so far all we’ve booked is the venue and cake (family friend who is a baker). We have plenty of time so we don’t feel rushed. When we were first deciding on a budget and browsing around vendors to get a feel of how much things would cost I came across an officiant who seems to fit absolutely perfectly with the type of wedding we want to have. We’re having a intimate and casual wedding in a garden.
I know we’re still very far away from the wedding, but would it be too soon to meet with certain types of vendors?

kathymoreira : If they are booking out that far, I don’t see why not. Unless you’re the type to change your mind a lot. Otherwise, sure, book it and check it off as done. 🙂

I definitely booked our officiant (and most of our other vendors too) more than a year out, and we had an 18 month engagement. If they seem perfect you should meet them ASAP so your date doesn’t get booked!

Don’t be afraid to book one now, the good ones book quickly!

Just ask him if he books this early. I booked my venue, photographer, and DJ over a year out. 1.5 years of wedding planning isn’t too unusual since a lot of people are set on a certain season for weather reasons.

If the officiant is your top choice and they are booking, I would do it. Our top choice officiant was already booked about 15 months before our wedding, and we had to search for another one!
