I’m usually a drug store makeup kind of person, but I just took the plunge and went to Sephora and splurged on wedding day makeup! After reading all the reviews here, I got Make Up Forever HD Primer, HD Foundation, and Duo Mat powder. $110 later (gag!) I better look darn good on my wedding day!!! 🙂

I love the HD foundation. I also used the green HD primer (to cancel out redness). My skin looked amazing on my wedding day and fantastic in photos!

Another fan of their HD foundation here. They have good stuff!

So just a quick update. This foundation did not work for me at all! It looked splotchy after a few hours, and beaded up on my pores (not sure of another way to describe it). I was so disappointed after spending so much on it and reading such great reviews! I figured it was worth a shot to see if Sephora would take it back, and they did, even without a receipt, which was awesome! So I got the Hourglass Immaculate foundation instead (which was even worse on the pocketbook at $60/bottle!), but it works way better for me.

Sephora has an AMAZING return policy….I’ve returned stuff months later without a receipt (not that I’m in the habit of doing that) and they’ll let you sample pretty much any foundation in the store. I went a couple weeks ago and got samples of the MUFE HD foundation, primer and powder and Nars Sheer Glow and I”m still using them!

Sephora is so awesome about their policies. I used Makeup Forever HD foundation and it was okay but I wasn’t a huge fan.
It took me a bit of work with them but I found Givency Photo Perfection Fluid Foundation. It is the best foundation I’ve ever used. It has a nice, light, fresh scent. It’s very smooth and you can easily build the coverage up in some areas and make it lighter in other areas. It leaves my face so soft and not even slightly cakey. My only complaint is the price at $48 a pop for a 0.8oz bottle it’s certainly expensive. But a good primer(I use Smashbox photo finish hydrating primer, although all their primers are great) definitely provides a good base and makes the foundation last a lot longer. I set it all with Laura Mercier setting powder in the day(and Urban Decay All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray) and I’m good to go.
