kayaa :  I would get a second opinion and definitely have x-rays taken.

Do you clench or grind your teeth? If so, it could be a bruised tooth ligament.

Same thing happened to me many years ago…I ended up needing a root canal! After the procedure no more pain. Good luck!!

possibly a root canal would be my guess if your dentist says its not a cavity. It is only when you eat though? or does it hurt when you bite or clench down?

Which tooth hurts? If you still have a wisdom tooth up in your gums that hasn’t come out yet it could be impacted and pushing on your other teeth.

I had a sore front tooth, yet no cavity. It ended up being nerve pain from clenching my teeth during the night. The dentist had a nightguard made for me and after a couple weeks I was pain free! I continue to wear the mouth guard to prevent any more pain, protect my teeth and to be honest, I can’t sleep with out it anymore!

Hi, you could be developing an abscess – if it’s getting worse I would go back to the dentist and I would go soon. Tooth pain can quickly get unbearably painful and dangerous. If it’s an abscessed tooth, you may need antibiotics and/or a root canal.
