Hi Bee’s! I was wondering if you lovely ladies have any ideas for foods that can mostly be eaten off a toothpick? I’m hosting 4-5 ladies for afternoon tea, catching up as some of us haven’t seen each other all year, some even longer. I wanted to keep it light and nibbly. So far I have:
Pancetta wrapped cantaloupe balls
Hummus dip with crudites and lavosh chips
Bite sized chicken skewers
And I was thinking of making Caesar salad skewers, with crumbed chicken cubes, parmesan cheese and lettuce on a stick you can dip in dressing?
I’ve made a pitcher of red sangria, a pitcher of blushing sangria, I have red and white wine, juice and water.
How does this menu sound so far? Are there enough vegetarian /vegan options or should there be more? And will it possibly be enough food as it is? Any suggestions welcome, I just don’t want to bite off more than I can chew…hehe… (sorry)

Not sure why it’s saying I posted 8 hours ago, this is a freshly squeezed post. Pulp free.

I would do mini fruit skewers. It will add some color to your spread.

If you do the salad things, do some without chicken because otherwise you only have hummus for your vegetarians.
Also maybe add some finger sandwiches or something. It seems like really light food to serve with alcohol.

Caprese salad has always been a favorite of mine! A mozzarella ball, cherry tomato or tomato slice, and a basil leaf on a toothpick. Vegetarian friendly and so delicious.

chocolateplease : I have added strawberries, grapes and a can of pineapple chunks to the list!
lindsayE : I was a little concerned of the same thing, none of them are dedicated vegetarians or anything, nor are they big meat eaters…and they love wine. I’m going to add Kore starches somehow to slow the drinking. I hope.
chelbell23 : They sound perfect! Would suit my menu perfect and is veggie too!
Thank you so far guys!

queenie8119 : lunation : brideandblue : Haha, I’ll report back with pictures (hopefully I won’t forget) and see if there was any food poisoning! It might change everyone’s minds.
lifeisbeeutiful : I was making sandwiches for some starchy food but these look delish also… Maybe I can use flat bread to wrap the Caesar salad bites! Like croutons…Sorta…
