Ever have the need to toot your own horn? I am having that need right now. I am been majorly stressed, anxious and unmotivated the past month. Due partially to the state of affairs in the world, family health issues and I’m in a masters and credential program so I’m super busy.
Anyway, today I planned and delivered an awesome lesson about fish feeding strategies, then came home and did four loads of laundry, tidied up the kitchen, planned another lesson, chatted to my Maid/Matron of Honor for an hour about life and made an awesome dinner for which I improvised a delicious sauce!
I’m super proud especially since I’ve been so down lately and hard on myself, so I felt the need to share.
Please toot your own horn about an accomplishment (big or small) you are proud of yourself for completing so we can share in the happy feelings together!

teacher-bee-in-the-sea : I could’ve stopped reading at “did 4 loads of laundry” because I’d need a nap after doing all that work! 🙂
I cleaned the downstairs, cooked dinner (I hate cooking, so this is big), and am currently waiting on Fiance to get home before turning on The Bachelor. And yeah, he’s taking his sweet time and I’m so tempted to go ahead and fire it up! #selfcontrol

Whew, you go girl!!
Im proud of me and Darling Husband because we’ve only ate out 1 time this year and we didn’t even pay for it..which is HUGE compared to how much we were spending a month. We’ve been doing a healthy challenge and eating so well and have saved so much money in the mean time! We finished our 24 day challenge last Wednesday and I lost 5lbs and 13.25 inches and his jeans don’t fit anymore haha! I’m 5 feet flat so those 5lbs definitely show!!
The downside to cooking all the damn time is all the dishes. I just spent 2 hours cleaning the kitchen and now I have some hopefully yummy soup on the stove!
I also hiked the mountain in the freezing temps this morning with my friend who is having a hip replacement tomorrow, idk how she does it! And then I went straight to the gym with Darling Husband. I haven’t missed a Monday yet!
Heres my progress pics- I’m so excited!!

I need this, I’ve actually had a really rough day; I turned down a job offer without knowing for certain that my current contract will be renewed in two months. It’s likely that I will get the extension but not concrete yet, but I am absolutely punishing myself for being so irresponsible. So tonight I made a nice dinner and cleaned the apartment top to bottom, I think to prove to myself that I’m not lazy. So, thanks for posting because I’m going to try to turn my mindset around on this and toot my own horn about how clean my house currently is and how hard I’ve worked to (fingers crossed) earn that extension at work!
Also, your lesson sounds awesome, no joke!!

fromatoz : Yay! Cooking is so dumb. Why do we have to eat?? I have been trying to get better about cooking so it’s a big deal that I made up a sauce!
ksn1219 : wow! First off I can TOTALLY see the five pounds gone. You are doing amazing, especially not eating out. Oh man, I could do so much better about meal planning and cooking at home. Definitely a goal of mine for this year.
ElectroFish : You are not lazy, you are an awesome talented, go-getter lady and you’ll get the extension! And thank you! I wish I could show you my lesson, I showed a bunch of videos of fish eating and then we worked on categorizing them based on the strategy, then named it and collected our notes on a graphic organizer that I created. 🐠

I diagnosed and repaired our washing machine with YouTube videos! I figured out what was wrong last week, ordered the parts, they came today and I was able to take it all apart, replace what was broken, and put it all back together! And it works great! We will hopefully get a new machine this year, but our old one is working much better for now!

I’ve stuck to my workout schedule (5 days a week) and diet for 3 weeks straight and I’m already down 7 lbs! I still have 68 more to go but I’m learning to celebrate the small achievements along the way 🙂

Wow! You look great! The weight loss is totally obvious, but so is the improved muscle tone. That gym time is really working for you!

I got the results back for my last accounting exam – 95%! I have three more to take before I get the full qualification but so far I’m on track for a distinction if I can keep it up. Thats huge for me, as I used to just wing it when it came to exams at school – I always passed but only just, this time I’ve revised as much as I can until I’m confident and it’s paying off!

Olivepepper : 37 pounds is a huge accomplishment!
hikingbride : sticking to a routine is soooo hard, but definitely worth it. Keep it up! 7 pounds in three weeks is awesome progress too! That’s more than 2 pounds a week!
Splodge2003 : 95%? A+ for you, my dear! I love when hard work pays off and is tangible.

hikingbride : 7 lb in 3 weeks is no small victory — that’s a great victory! Definitely worth celebrating!!
I’ve successfully made it through 2 rounds for a job in a really competitive field and have my final round later this week! It’s a big career shift for me and I really didn’t think I’d be taken seriously so am feeling really proud of myself for “keeping up with the big kids” 😀
Also about to finish a first draft of my final dissertation chapter! So close to being done I can almost taste it!!
