It’s hard to say without knowing more about what you have, but I am a fan of very high quality items you won’t need to replace in a year or two. Things that will last.

Some ideas: sheets! Nice bath sheets (big, oversized towels). Glass storage containers (I avoid plastic). I have stoneware from pampered chef that I love and use almost daily. A high quality skillet. I think the pot and pan sets are overrated. I find I need one really good nonstick skillet, one cast iron and then a big pot plus maybe 1 medium size. The sets are nice but have more than anyone really needs. Think about things you use a lot and register for that in a nice brand.

If you register on amazon you can include things like a new shower head or towel warmer, etc. get creative!

Haven’t received anything yet but my top choices would be (note these are more expensive things, I know some family is purchasing joint gifts): Le Creuset Dutch Over, KitchenAid Mixer, high quality bedding, extra fluffy towels (i’m cheap and would never buy nice ones myself!)

Super high quality bed sheets, crock pot, knife set, blender/food processer. I know you said you already have some stuff since you live together already, but you could use this as a chance to upgrade your everyday dinner and silverware too.

Our tea kettle is the registry gift we use the most. We love it! It’s definitely the gift from our registry that we use the most.

lifesgood :  When we got married everything we had was hand-me-downs and make-do items. It was so exciting to get new, working stuff. I would say our top 5 items we received as gifts that we looooove are:

– Keurig

– Frying saucer (look it up, we’re a big fishing family and it’s amazing)

– nice bedding, especially the fleece sheets (we live in Canada)

– Nutribullet

– Nice towels, like PP said, I’m too cheap to buy the nice ones, but it’s delightful having them!

lifesgood :  We didn’t get a knife set, but that would have been awesome! We cook a lot, we’re not the couple with a show kitchen so knives would have been used daily.

Most of the items on our registry are upgrades. The things I most want:

– Le Creuset pots

– Nice luggage

– High thread count sheets

– High quality down-alternative comforter

– Kitchenaid mixer

– Toaster oven

If we didn’t already have good knives, I think that’s another must have. Also, things like cutting boards (upgrading from cheap plastic to nice wood ones), having matching sets of mugs & dishware, really plush bath towels, linen tea towels, etc. A good tool set, drill, etc., is also always good to have on hand, especially if you’re a home owner.
