Depends on the top, but usually its one or two sizes bigger for the bottom than the top for me. I’ve put on some weight, but even when I was thinner, my hips were basically the same size, I just had a tiny waist. Then it was more extreme, I could wear XS tops with L bottoms. Now, I’ve got more boobage, which requires a bigger top.

I am hippy with thicker thighs so yeah, bigger in pants. I usually wear a medium in tops but sometimes have to go with large due to boobs, pretty much a large in pants unless the sizing is way off.

naivemelody :  I hate when sets are sold like this! I need a S or XS in most tops, and a M in most pants. Swimsuits are kinda opposite where I need a L for the top and a M for the bottom, which I’ve always thought was weird. I’m guessing this is because I have a large chest but very tiny waist, and somewhat muscular thighs.

naivemelody :  I describe my figure as an egg on legs. I’m all stomach, boobs and chins!! my legs and ankles are tiny in comparison!! Makes shopping a pain in the butt. I have to buy smaller pants than tops and dresses are near impossible. I have to get everything taken up and tailored!

I go to specialist swimwear shops to buy bathers for that reason. They sell separates which works better for my shape.

I’m not as simple as top/bottom.  I differ in top/middle bottom and not in a good way: xs/m/s.  My middle is my largest size.  I’m pretty straight up & down but happen to be extra petite on top.  It’s super annoying.  I mostly wear dresses.  I buy them to fit my middle and have the top taken in and sometimes bottom if necessary.  Shirts are just as hard for me to fit as jeans.  Shift dresses are my go to.

I have the profile of a “P”. All boobs. No waist. Narrow hips. Can’t recall the last time I wore a button shirt due to the tendency of my boobs to do an incredible hulk number & bust out.

I am short, ridiculously busty (currently 34G/H depending on the bra 😭) with boyish hips and muscular thighs. I have wanted a breast reduction since I was a teenager, but I am waiting until I am done nursing to go through with it.

Shopping for clothes sucks! Currently wearing size 4/6/8 pants and 8/10/12 tops depending on how much the brand vanity sizes their clothes, haha! Usually I look at the measurements on the size chart, order two of the same thing in different sizes and then return the one that doesn’t fit as nicely… or use a personal shopper at Nordstrom to run around picking out 2-3 sizes of all the pants that might fit me only to have me leave with only one pair because that’s all that fit.

Are you trying to find cozy matching pajamas that fit? I know some places like GAP sell matchy-matchy pajama tops and pants separately.

For bikinis I buy Freya at HerRoom.com. I just order my normal bra size for on top and look for the highest-waisted bottom I can find haha!

jannigirl :  Where do you shop for clothes? I pretty much buy everything I own from GAP, Uniqlo, and Nordstrom. Would love to have more options!

I guess I can say I hate pants. Mega hate. I have really muscular legs.

I wear dresses most the time and those are usually around an L in Old Navy. But I think I am like a U.S. 12-16 in pants. Large to XL tops. It all really varies on the brand. Some are boob and thunder thigh friendly… Most are not. 🙂 Needless to say online shopping is risky for me. I have to really familiarize myself with the brand.

jannigirl :  that is why I’m thankful that I work in the operating room and not a regular ward. Scrubs are a lot more boob friendly than button up nursing uniforms… I always wore a singlet under my uniform to avoid accommodating a boob that decided it needed to get some air 😞
