I am resurrecting this post to get some more input since I am getting close to actually having to buy this stuff! Please let me know if you have any other wonderful ideas.
As it stands I am using carmel syrup, candied orange zest, ground cinnamon, cinnamon sticks, mini candy canes, marshmallows, crushed butter scott candy, ground nutmeg and crushed peppermints.

I love to put crushed heath bar into hot cocoa

Everything sounds great! Look up recipes at websites for Torani, DaVinci, and Monin syrups for ideas. Also what toppings do you and your family/friends typically use?
As an example, I have never heard of toppings or mix-ins for cider, but the caramel sauce sounds yummy.

We are having a hot chocolate bar for our wedding and one thing we are doing is dipping plastic spoons in melted chocolate (milk and white) and on some of them, before they completely dry we will roll them in crushed peppermint. People can use them to stir their hot chocolate and give it a little more flavor.

I voted for marshmallows, whipped cream, and cinnamon sticks!

Just curious but has anyone used whipped cream on hot cider? There’s an espresso bar closeby that has that as a seasonal flavor that is supposedly quite popular but I’m having trouble wrapping my head around that combo.

Ember78: I was a barista/supervisor for Seattle’s Best Coffee and caramel apple cider is super popular. Caramel sauce stirred in, whipped cream and caramel drizzled on top. Yummy!

I make homemade hot chocolate mix every year, and I’ve made one in the past that has Andes Creme De Menthe baking chips in it that goes over very well! So I’d certainly consider that for an option for a mix-in.
