These 2 options cost about the same, and I feel pretty equally drawn to both. Since they are SO different in style, I’m having a hard time deciding. We haven’t “styled” our wedding yet, so we could skew the look in either direction depending on the dress choice.
I think part of the reason for my indecision is that the two elements of our wedding are very different from each other. The ceremony will likely be held in the mountains near a lake, and the reception will be a speakeasy/rooftop combo in the heart of the city.
1 compromise I can think of is to wear the Haley Paige dress for the ceremony and throw the Effie skirt over it for a more modern look during the reception. This would be the most expensive option, and I’m not sure how that would feel, to have 2 skirts on while dancing and moving for 5+ hours.
Please excuse the blurriness of Dress #1. It was the last dress I tried on of the day and we forgot to get photos – just took a lot of videos to capture the beading. These are screenshots of a video.

the bodice of #1 flatters your figure better.

I almost bought the effie skirt, so I’m pretty biased that way! I also kinda like how it looks like you have wings from behind.
Honestly, even if it weren’t for that skirt, I really really really don’t like the other dress. It looks like old moldy torn rags hanging off your gorgeous body. I fricken love HP, but that skirt…no…

I definitely prefer dress one. It’s gorgeous. Something about dress two just seems a little off to me, like the lace and ruffles don’t really go together. I think dress one would still look gorgeous with a mountain wedding.

OMG I love the beaded bodice of that gown!!!
Since it is a bodysuit, maybe get 2 skirts for it. The one pictured is BEAUTIFUL for the ceremony, and you could get something easier to wear during the reception.
By The Way: Your back muscles are amazing, The fact that Dress 2 drops down and shows that makes that dress pop. But the dress itself is not otherwise flattering…

duchessgummybunns : I’m confused. Is the hayley dress the second dress? So, the first one is the body suit with the Effie skirt?
I like the first one on you better than the second one. It’s got a more form fitting style which is quite flattering! :

Dress #1 for sure! It is lovely. The other dress is pretty but I don’t think it flatters your figure as well as #1 does.

I like the sparkly one, which I think is the bodysuit?
I also don’t like the skirt of the second lacy top looking one but thats personal preference.

You made me laugh with the moldy torn rags comment! I actually REALLY liked the ruffled/tiered look of the skirt when I had it on, but now I think I HAVE to go with the Effie because I can’t unsee the moldy rags!! haha
TxIslandGirl : I think you’ve hit the nail on the head. The main thing that keeps pulling me back to the Hayley Paige is the way it highlights my back, which I spend a LOT of time working on in the gym! After everyone’s comments regarding the skirt looking kind of tattered, I don’t think the open back of the dress is enough to make up for the subpar skirt…
I’m so glad I came to you guys – I never would have seen the skirt as tattered looking, but it very much is, especially when compared to the Effie.
I’m realizing it’s the open back of the Hayley Paige that I mostly love – maybe I can find that in another bridal top that I could switch out with the Fladdra..?

Thank you! I’m very petite, so I thought the Hayley Paieg skirt was a good compromise between slimming A-line and dramatic volume for me – but clearly I didn’t pay enough attention to the way the skirt actually LOOKS. All commenters seem to be united in thinking the skirt looks tattered.
I wonder why the people who are voting for the Hayley Paige aren’t commenting?

OK- not gonna lie, your back muscles are goals. Also, another vote for dress one.

I think you could definitely find a more open back top, that might be a great compromise.
And sorry if I ruined the dress for you!! It’s something with the combination of colour, texture and the way it hangs lol.

You look like a ballerina princess in that sparkly bodysuit dress so I vote for that all the livelong day! Also, I agree with the PP that your back muscles are gorgeous.

Sorry, but the second dress reminds me of Cinderella coming back from the ball when her dress is all torn up.
