kborgman :  I prefer AJ’s work. I feel like Angela’s portfolio shows basically ALL posed photos. I know everyone has different thoughts about photographers, but for me, it was incredibly important to have candid shots and to capture the FEEL of the event versus just a bunch of poses. Movement is important. I think AJ’s portfolio encompasses that much better than Angela’s.

Definitely a difficult one and I think I am going to have the same problem in the next couple of weeks! We are planning to meet with two shortly.

I feel like I like the editing of Angela’s photos more, but AJ has a better range of shots. If you’ve seen Angela’s extended portfolio and she has a wider range than that shown on her website, I’d say go with her. But if you think her style is a little too ‘posed’, AJ is a good choice!

Good luck deciding! I think with either you will end up with some beautiful wedding pictures!

I will also say that personality played a huge part in the day for us. We loved her portfolio, but it was her attitude that really made our wedding day. I think that factors in a lot!

Pick the person you are most comfortable with. You will photograph better if you are more at ease.

kborgman :  My vote is for AJ, because there is more detail in the whites (I can’t stand blown out whites!! )  and because she seems to have captured more spontanteous moments – I suspect she is better at anticipating those wonderful, brief interactions which are such precious memories.

I can sympathize!  Just had to choose between 4 photographers who all did great work.

I also prefer AJ’s work.  She is able to capture all the special moments and emotions.  I also am not a fan of the blown out look (is it intentional?).  To me that’s bad photography “technique” even if it’s a style.  There’s something about AJ’s work that is more “real” and less “generic”, although you won’t go wrong with either of them.

Hey! I’m a photographer, and personally I thought Angela’s work was better (though they’re pretty close). I think the deciding factor will be who you clicked with best. From my experience, I get my best photos from clients who are comfortable around me. The more at ease you are, the more likely you’re gonna receive photos that best reflect who you are and how you feel ๐Ÿ™‚
