Thanks everyone for your comments!
I’m surprised most people preferred the lace dress but it is reassurring that the dress I picked does look ok on me – thanks everyone. I’ve decided I’m going to go back and try on the sample of the dressI picked and see how I feel in it now. I think that will be the way to determine which one is right.
But more opinions would still be appreciated!

Love the lace, the satin is nice too, but the lace makes you look WOW. And No, I dont see anything disproportion at all with the lace dress.

It’s about whichever you feel more comfortable in. I love the first dress, but if you don’t think it’s flattering or won’t work with your figure, think seriously about the second one. I think the second one is a little safer, but it does make your top half look great- I’m just more of a lace fan than the second material in general.

Both look beautiful on you! I voted for the silk dress only because I prefer the neckline of the silk dress.
There is something off in the neckline of the lace dress that’s drawing my eye there…if you could alter it, I’m sure it would be beautiful – I love the rest of the dress and the keyhole mock-up that they did for you.

I say go with whatever YOU want and what YOU will be most comfortable in. I absolutely loved my dress, but it was so uncomfortable to wear for the whole day. Make comfort a priority!! They both look great on you, but remember, this is YOUR wedding- so even if everyone loves the lace one, they aren’t the ones wearing it.

The lace dress is STUNNING! The back is going to look incredible. However, the satin one is also VERY flattering on you. I don’t think you can go wrong either way. If you decide to keep your original dress know that it looks amazing on you!

@melbgirl: You look great in either dress. Personally I like the lace one better but obviously you want to be comfortable on the big day! If you do opt for the silk one, maybe you could purchase and then resell the lace one?

Oh gosh LACE ALL THE WAY, no contest!!! I honestly can not believe you’re even torn, the first dress looks so much better! It is amazing and looks soooo gorgeous on you — even with those less-than-pro photos you look like you could be a bridal model in that dress. It is beautiful, unique, and timeless; reminds me of Princess Kate.
The second dress is not as flattering because of the pleating — it makes you look MUCH heavier than you are from the side. Also, that style will look super dated in about 10 minutes. Plus I personally do not like the clash of horrizontal and vertical lines.

I think they are both lovely, I would pick whichever one feels right and is the most comfortable! I can’t tell about your tummy on the first one, as it’s hard to tell from the picture and angle.
That being said, have you tried some type of belt with crystals/etc on with dress 2? I think that might make it look even better. For some reason, I feel like it’s missing something.
Between the two as they are shown in the photo…I’d go with the lace unless you will be uncomfortable in it! Then I would go with the silk with a belt! Because you look great in both!

Wow, you really have chosen two completely different styles, I mean totally opposite ends of the spectrum- in one you are saying demure and classy and in the other you are saying look at me, Im confident about who I am and what I’m about. I think you really need to think about what who you want to present to the world on your wedding day. Forget about everyone else’s opinion. They both look good on your body, your issue is around who you are not how you look in these dresses

You look amazing in both. – I was going to opt for 2 (similar to a style I adore, but can’t wear), but
@valintine is right, you’re going to be having these pics on your wall for the next, what? 50? 80? Maybe 100? Years (science is doing crazy stuff all the time, but I digress…)
1 is timeless, and gorgeous on you, and I am rather envious I can’t get away with something like thatM

I would peronally go for the dress that I found by chance simply because the only opinion that really mattered when you found it was yours. and thats the only thing that matters, feel beautiful in what you wear, feel comfortable and forget the deposit already!
