Hi Bees. Today I am asking for your help. PLEASE!!! I went to see a florist a few months back and thought there was no need to look any further. A few days later she sent me the proposal and I just about died from sticker shock. About a week after that I went to another florist just to see what the difference would be. Now I am really confused!
They were both really nice and I could see myself working with either one. However, I feel like the second one hot my vision a little better. She is a bit cheaper but overall I just liked the ideas she had more and the flowers she was offering were better in my opinion. However, when I came home all excited about it and showed my Fiance he said they looked really dark 🙁 I was wondering what you guys thought. I need to make a decision and it’s just so hard for me! I keep fearing I will make the wrong choice.
This is Florist A: I only have a picture of one of the centerpieces. It is very nice but has A LOT of mums in it which are okay but not really my favorite. These tall centerpieces would be $80/piece. The other centerpieces would be a smaller manzanita tree at about $60/piece but I don ot have a picture of that. Also there is A LOT of yellow. I am having an elegant fall harvest type of vibe and I am looking for all of the colors of fall. Red, orange, yellow, brown and gold.
Also my bouquet would have a lot of these same flowers and again I want something more than mums. I just don’t know what to do.
This is Florist B: She kind of did mini mockups for me while I was there which I appreciated because I am a very visual person and need to see things in front of my face! ha Anyhow, I felt like the bouquet was more me and I guess a little more elegant? I only have cell phone pics and like I mentioned they are just mockups and not finished but here are some examples.
There will be moss at the bottom of these and the candles you see on the tables in the background will be filled with moss at the bottom and lined down the aisle (we are getting married outside) and then after the ceremony they will be put on the other tables as centerpieces with the same flowers from the manzanita tree and my bouquet scattered about along with some apples. (We got engaged at an apple orchard) My place carsd will also be attached to baby pumpkins so those will be on the table as well. The manzanita will be $75/each and the candles will be $60/each.
Bees which do you prefer??? Please vote and offer any suggestions or critiques. They are greatly needed and appreciated!

I like A better. It reminds me of my wedding. I had mostly dahlias in all sorts of fall colors and it looked great:

I like A better too, but it could be because that is very smiliar to what I will be doing, ha.

I am going to go with B, probably because that seems to fit my tastes…..

You should absolutely go with what your gut tells you. If B is more you, then go with B, especially because you seem to “click” more with that florist.
I do think I’ll be stealing the idea of incorporating mums in my centerpieces, which I haven’t started planning yet. But like you, I’m going to more reds, aubergines, and a more elegant interpretation of fall colors.

I like b better, I think A is really tall and wide and those kind of centerpieces are hard to talk around. The yellow does make it look more summer-y.

I like B better. I like the richer fall colors, and I think the centerpiece is very fall like without being too overpowering.

I picked B- I love that the bouquet is a little different- dark callas are fantastic!

I think they’re both nice. A is more traiditional and romatic while B is more modern and sleek. I agree that B is a little dark for my taste, but I love the clean lines.

Thanks ladies. I was thinking if I added a bit more yellow or orange hues to the bouquet that would help with the “darkness”. Of course every now and then I think I should do an all white bouquet so obviously I just can’t make up my mind! haha
I really appreciate the opinions and please keep them coming!
Also, so you think the hurricane candles on the tables will be enough with petals scattered around or will it look too plain?

@KatNYC2011: That looks really beautiful and your pictures are fantastic!
@tayona: I was thinking it was a bit more summery too but the Fiance likes it.

Any other ladies want to weigh in on this one?

I like B. Not to re-say everything the other bees for B said but just to add that your man might not think it’s too dark if you show him what they look like against your white dress, table cloth, or other elements you will have. Also I know cost dose not matter but if your personal preference is cheeper I see that as win win!
I’m having my wedding in the fall and the problem I keep running into with flowers is the “country barn” look which is sweet but not me. When I saw this post I thought ‘Great it’s gonna be Mums and Sunflowers’ No sunflowers this time thank goodness but the mums have the same affect. It dose not matter how many roses you add to it you still have that casual look. I think the orchids are crazy classy looking and refine the image you are going for.
