Where I live there are not a lot of options for wedding venues, you pretty much have one place that everyone uses and they nickel and dime you to death there and it will be the ame wedding that everyone else has had. Fiance and I have been looking all over for something different and ran into someone that is starting to do weddings on his farm/ golf course. He is in the process of upgrading the 2nd floor of his barn to hold events. It has it’s Pros and Cons but so far it’s the only option we have found. I took some pictures of it when I visited and have been looking at them trying to picture it decorated. I can see it in my head and it’s what we were looking for but I keep having doubts about pulling it all together. Should I keep looking or make it work?

Make it work! The ceiling is great, it’s spacious, it’s not what everyone else have for their wedding – I think it’s perfect!

I really like it and I think you could make it work!
Does it have air conditioning though? I don’t know where you’re located, but here in September its still pretty hot and humid. If it was an evening wedding it might be okay, but I wouldn’t think of having a wedding some place without AC in September!

It’s so nice! The high ceilings are gorgeous…I say do it ! It depends on the vibe you want – typically with a barn venue it is – rustic, vintage, and shabby chic.

@MelBan: if it’s going to suit your theme and your budget, great!

It looks like an awful lot of work to make it look nice. If you’re up for that, go for it.

@adoc86: We are having an evening recption but that was one of my concerns. He explained that the system runs before people get there to cool it down. Plus all the windows have screens and there are vents in the wall. There is all a back deck back by the bar that looks over the golf course for people to go out on.

@MelBan: oh good, in that case I think it would work well!

@whoa_its_ash: Thanks everyone! I’ve been such a nerd getting excited to do wedding projects and it looks like this place may give me the chance to get my craft on!
