To all Toronto weddingbees,
Please beware of this Daniel Barker decor company in toronto. They tried to pretend to be nice make you sign the contract and once it’s signed, they are very forceful and i am having an extremely hard time dealing with them. If you don’t want the stress, i will advice not to go there, tho it’s cheaper, but u really get what u pay for…BAD SERVICE!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got some messages from other wedding bees asking about detail experience from this decor. When I posted the first message it was right before my wedding do I didn’t ve time to describe what happened in detail. I really don’t want to talk about it anymore caz thinking about it makes me mad, but I feel that I should let other bees know my experience of dealing with them…
So when we first got the quote it was very cheap compare to other decor for example chair covers were like $1.75 full service whereas other places r like almost $4, and they were nice so we signed it. So one day we called them and asked the approx. time they would be at the venue becaz my venue wanted to know the approx arrival time so that they ve an idea of the set up process. So this Ann Marie lady started being so rude to me didn’t want to tell me when. I mean its my first exp to be a bride and I didnt ve any wedding planner so i had to do all these coordinations if thats what the venue wanted. Anyways She seemed so annoy that I asked her and she was so rude in her response I mean if there is a reason why she couldn’t tell me she could still response nicely. My point is she was really rude so we decided u know what it’s still early so according to the contract we can still cancel it with full refund so then after I told her alll of a sufdened she became so nice again so we thought ok maybe it’s just mis understanding and we didn’t want to go thru the stress to find another decor so we kept the contract. Damn should ve stopped it right there. Anyways as the date was approaching we had to finalize the numYber of guests. So we asked them to change the numbers as first she was like u can’t change it but after she knew we wanted to increase the no. she was ok but she was so rude throughout this back and forth process, conversation thru phones and emails she was basically harassing me and my hubby yes I would use this word “harassed ” becaz thats how I felt, one time I was on the phone with her and I was literally shaking, to make the long story short after the wedding they accused us that stuffs were damaged and they sent us this $700 bill and when we asked them for evidence, they said they didnt want to show. U know what my crowd is not the crazy drinking crowd no one really drink so u can chop my head off if there was any damage so we basically didn’t pay and lost our security deposit, we even filed a complain to the ministry of consumer service after but of course didn’t get much from it… Anyways I really do not recommend this decor…

@chocolatecoffee:
I’ve worked with Daniel Barker and I have to say I dont share your view point at all and I was initially referred to them by friends that got married and used their services. They did the decor for my wedding on last May 14th and they were easy to deal with, i got my covers, napkins, tablecloths from them as well and everything was beyond very nice. Ann-Marie was always nice to us and everything she did for us we were very happy and she never gave us any form of attitude through the entire process. our decor was very different to everyone else and she used a lot of really nice fabric with pattern on our backdrop and she even gave us more than what we paid for and she did it for my past friends as well. two of the napkins got burnt and she contacted me to let me know and she showed the two napkins to me so i can see the damage before paying and i paid for them. I understand they are a company and i signed a contract and of course it is my responsiblity for all damages and lost.
i will always use Daniel barker for any of my events and i will always recommend the company to my friends, they are even doing my cousin wedding next september 2012. when it came to the linens, ann-marie sent me an email a couple weeks earlier to remind me and i called her with my final numbers and it was lower than i anticipated and she was fine with that and she just sent me an invoice with the final numbers and balance. so, the way you described ann-marie, that is not her, she is friendly, honest, down-to-earth and very direct, she tells it like it is and she keeps her word that is one thing that my friends that has dealt with her and i know about Ann-Marie. I love the company and Ann-marie, she does an exceptional job and goes beyond the call of duty for her clients. I RECOMMEND THEM, GIVE THEM A TRY AND YOU WILL AND YOU WONT REGRET IT
