We are having an outdoor ceremony this July and I would love to have lavendar toss cones. I can’t decide if we should hang them on the back of the chairs or have them in a basket. We are expecting 150 guests and I am not sure if I should make one for each guest. I want to make sure that the people on the aisle will have cones but can only make sure that is so by hanging them. Also, since it will be outside should I worry about the wind??? Does any bees have experience with this??

I had an outdoor wedding and we hung the cones from only the the 2 centers rows of chairs so 1: people were only throwing the rose petals to us and 2: to save $$ flower petals have to be plucked fresh so it saved about $500

My boss had cones with rose petals at her wedding, just hanging on the chairs that lined the aisle. I had an aisle seat and tossed the petals as they came back down the aisle… And ended up just chucking a ball of clumped up rose petals in her face! I don’t think she remembers (thank God!) but she kind of recoiled as they hit her chin, so I know she noticed at the time. So, my advice, make sure you put something in the cones that will disperse and fall prettily! The rose petals are a lovely idea, but they got packed down into the cone too firmly; I think if they had been placed in there loosely the toss would have gone as intended. I’ve been thinking about using dried lavender because I feel like the weight of each individual piece will work well.
