We’re only having about 20 people (close family only) and spending about $4,000. That includes his ring and our honeymoon.

@mags2233:  That sounds very reasonable!  What area of the country do you live in?

We’re having ~160 guests and spending ~60K.  That does not include honeymoon or e-ring.  Also doesn’t include rehearsal dinner, late night snacks or the cost of the officiant b/c FH’s parents are paying for those. 🙂

Most of the money is going to the reception which is about 30k.  We spent a decent amount on the photographer, and also my dress (monique lhuillier) but we’ve gotten great deals on invitations/paper goods, flowers, and some other items.

Not including rings ($1300) or honeymoon (don’t even ask).

We were at like 36k for 82 guests. I’m still getting my PhD, so this was a LOT of money and DH and I only covered a fraction of it.

wmontano77  I LOVE HOW YOU THINK, AND WHAT YOU’VE DONE. WE ARE THINKING THE SAME 100 GUESTS AND $10,000 , THE REST CAN BE SAVED FOR MORE IMPORTANT THINGS IN LIFE.

10,000 including a 4 night stay at the Grand Wailea (400 a night), a plane ticket for his mom and her 4 night stay (not at the Grand Wailea tho!). This is a small 25 person destination wedding on Maui and we’re hosting the rehearsal dinner at a beachfront restaurant (~2000.00) The huge price saver is that we’re doing it at my aunt’s estate  and although we plan to get really good yummy and quality food for the reception dinner, we are not doing a caterer.

We could afford to spend more.. Fiance only works 8 months a year and makes 120,000 but I’m a saver. We also would rather spend our money on travel and are more concerned with the honeymoon.

We are having 110 guests and total cost for the wedding is 5K. But we are not having: dancing, a sit-down dinner (a pig roast instead), centerpieces or alcohol (except for a keg at the pig roast). Since I am paying for the wedding (FH is paying for the honeymoon) that’s all I am willing to spend. And I am paying cash for everything. No bills from the wedding will plague me after the big day!
