vanessalynn22 :  We had 300 guests, are in a HCOL area and used an award winning designer which brought up the price considerably.  Here are a few photos…

It really depends on your area because costs vary so much for floral, but that seems really low to me for what you want. In my area, what you are looking for would go for around $5,000 minimum at a really reasonably priced vendor. The flower arch is a big spend – could you go with a premade faux flower arch, like others have suggested? You’re only going to be using it for a brief time and most people won’t even be close enough to know the difference.

Your poll isn’t going to be that helpful because I think your overall budget skews higher than most on this site. You’re going to get a lot of people in the “under $2500” range because they had a lower overall budget and/or flowers weren’t a priority for them.

Flowers were not very important to me but I still spent about $6000 total. I did my best and most of my original quotes were closer to $8k so I was overall pleased. One way that I saved money was using fake flowers in my chuppah (traditional jewish wedding canopy). I used a separate vendor and it cost me $750 including drop off, set up, and pick up. Many other florists were quoting me $2k+ for this item.

I’d work backwards considering what you want for florals. For me it was something like:

    – $200 – bridal bouquet

    – $100 * 6 – bridesmaid bouquets

    – $20 * 8 – groomsmen and dad boutenierres

    – $150 * 20 – Centerpieces

    – $250 – Sweetheart table arrangement

    – $400 – Welcome arrangement for my escort cards

+ Tax and $100 for delivery

My wedding certainly wasn’t floral covered but it looked nice! I would think about your vision for your wedding, get a few quotes from florists, see what the going rate for the things you want are, and then work backwards to determine what you’ll have to pay for the look you’re going for. I called 4-5 florists and learned that the going rate for bouqets and centerpieces in my area were about what I paid. I wanted a nicer sweetheart table arrangement and the welcome arrangement set the tone as well (it was a cherry blossom tree).

For me the chuppah wasn’t really optional as I needed it for my religious ceremony, but artificial flowers were really fine. Even when I look at the pics I truly can’t tell – and no one except me and the groom were close enough to them at all

I live in a HCOL, but went with very minimal floral, as we did our Western wedding in my parents’ back garden. All my floral was $1200CAD.

I spent approximately $5000 for essentially what you want– 20 centerpieces (I had 140 guests) and 8 bridesmaid bouquets.  We also had some small floral decorations and the church which were repurposed at the reception.   I probably could have gotten it a bit cheaper, but that included all set up, delivery, and vases as well.

I am having 80 guests. And I requested for mostly orchids and some orchids & calla lilies. Here is my quote more or less from the top of my head:

bamboo arch with tulle rental $250

2 floral arrangements on sides of arch (to be reused for sweetheart table) $125×2

    8 centerpieces for 8 tables: 4 are $85 (high) and 4 are $65 (low)

    bridal bouquet $175

    Maid/Matron of Honor bouquet  $80

    corsages for moms $35×2

boutonnières for dads, best man & ringbearer $15×4

    flower girl basket $25

    cake table $40

    cocktail belly bars  $15×6

gift & guestbook table big centerpiece $150

    groom boutonnière $25

Doing a framed seating chart with easel so no flowers needed (has printed floral decor that matches invitations)

    throw bouquet is free

ETA: I live in SoCal so I think this quote is pretty good.
