I can’t believe it! After 5 wonderful years, I have a fiancé! He took me and our closest friends to the top of a skyscraper to celebrate the new year. As we were overlooking the city’s amazing view, the countdown happened and the fireworks went up, then he got down on one knee and popped the question! He even had a surprise pro photographer waiting. As cheesy as it is, I couldn’t take my eyes off his smiling face for a long while and didn’t even look at the ring until we were indoors. I’m beyond happy! 🙂
Specs are I color, SI1, Ideal cut, 1.04 carat center, size 5.5.

Beautiful ring! Congrats! And I don’t think a new years proposal is cheesy at all. It’s a happy time!

Congratulations! A surprise proposal seems kind of rare these days–those clever Bees stay one step ahead.
So you really had no idea it was coming?

Thank you everyone!
Haven’t set a day yet, just enjoing today and being engaged. We know it’s gonna be around May 2016, just not an exact date.
I had absolutely no clue! Since it’s our senior year of college, he said we were going up there to see the year off with a bang and celebrate our impending graduation. I figured that’s what we were doing, but apparently everyone else was in on it! I’ve never really felt the need to snoop or beg for details about who/what/where/when. I wanted to be surprised and he sure pulled through!

Congrats on your beautiful ring! At first I thought we had the same ring and I was freaking out (but mine has the full marquise shape on the sides)!
P.S. Your diamond looks way bigger than 1.04 carats!
